Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Friends' Central

Friends' Central posted their closest win since February 6th on Saturday. They had just enough and edged the Chambersburg Trojans out 50-47. The victory was all the more spectacular given Friends' Central's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Chambersburg is ranked 12th).

It was another big night for Gabe Moore, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 23 points. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Boyer, who posted six points and six steals.

Friends' Central's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Chambersburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Friends' Central will host Springdale Prep at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Friends' Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.9 points per game this season. As for Chambersburg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against State College at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
