Softball Recap: Eaton Rapids Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Flat Rock, Eaton Rapids was happy to have turned things around on Sunday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mott Marauders, sneaking past 2-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Greyhounds as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Kalli Ordiway spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Riley Cutler, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April.

Eaton Rapids' win bumped their record up to 24-9. As for Mott, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-7-1.

Eaton Rapids has already played their next contest, an 8-4 victory against Trenton on the 18th. As for Mott, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Clawson at 4:30 p.m.
