Basketball Recap: Florence Starts off Right with Win over San Tan Foothills

Florence took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They snuck past the San Tan Foothills Sabercats with a 54-49 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Gophers also won the last time the pair played back in February.

Florence's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adrian Taufassau, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Darren Swain, who went 5 of 9 en route to 14 points.

San Tan Foothills' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Khrys Gray, who posted 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julius Carlisle, who had 16 points.

San Tan Foothills now has a losing record at 2-3.

Florence is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Tonopah Valley at 7:00 p.m. on December 10th. Florence is facing Tonopah Valley at the right time seeing as Tonopah Valley is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for San Tan Foothills, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-24 victory against ALA - Anthem South on the 6th.
