Basketball Recap: Mishawaka Wins Going Away Against New Prairie

Mishawaka won the last time they faced New Prairie and things went their way on Saturday too. The Mishawaka Cavemen took down the New Prairie Cougars 53-37. The squad ran away with 39 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.

Despite the defeat, New Prairie saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brody Wiginton went 6 of 9 on his way to 18 points. Those 18 points gave Wiginton a new career-high.

Mishawaka's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for New Prairie, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Mishawaka will take on Fort Wayne North Side in a tournament on Saturday. As for New Prairie, they will be taking part in a tournament against Lewis Cass at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Lewis Cass has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.
