Basketball Recap: Dugger Union Takes a Loss

After soaring to 55 points the game before, Dugger Union was a bit more limited in their match on Saturday. They were outmatched by the South Putnam Eagles and fell 72-22. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Ryley Cobb was Dugger Union's leading scorer, having posted nine points.

South Putnam found their leader in sophomore Isaac Garner, who went 7 for 8 on his way to 15 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Cam Bozell, who posted nine points.

Dugger Union's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for South Putnam, with the victory, they broke their ten-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-10.

Dugger Union wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 80-49 defeat against Lighthouse Christian Academy on the 28th. As for South Putnam, they will head out to face off against Monrovia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Putnam has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
