Basketball Recap: Lewiston Takes a Loss

Lewiston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 40-30 to the Sterling Jets. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent loss being a 39-28 defeat last Friday.

Despite the loss, Lewiston saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Justice Currie posted ten points. That's the most points Currie has posted since back in December of 2024.

Lewiston's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Sterling, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-14.

Looking ahead, Lewiston will welcome Southern on Tuesday. As for Sterling, they will face off against Mead at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Mead has lost five straight at home , while Sterling has lost six on the road (dating back to last season).
