Recap: Santana Sultans vs. Coronado Islanders
The Santana Sultans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 76-52 loss at the hands of Coronado.
Santana lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Michael Mendez, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mendez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Dain Diaz, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
Santana has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Coronado, their win bumped their record up to 2-8.
Santana will be playing at home against Grossmont at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coronado will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Flintridge Prep at 9:30 a.m. on December 27th.
