Baseball Recap: Upperman Wins Going Away Against Smith County

Upperman won against White County last Tuesday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Upperman put the hurt on the Smith County Owls with a sharp 12-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bees in their matchups with the Owls: they've now won five in a row.

Braden Green was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Upperman's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 4-7 when he doesn't). Justin Fallon also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Upperman lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The win got Upperman back to even at 7-7. As for Smith County, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 10-1.

Looking ahead, Upperman will challenge Friendship Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Smith County, they will square off against Watertown at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
