Preview: Frontier Academy Wolverines vs. Platte Valley Broncos
Frontier Academy is on a three-game streak of home losses, Platte Valley a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Frontier Academy Wolverines will take on the Platte Valley Broncos at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Frontier Academy struggled with assists last Tuesday (Wellington had 11 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Frontier Academy took a 44-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wellington.
Despite the loss, Frontier Academy saw an underclassman step up: Emily Gesick scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Platte Valley took a serious blow against Resurrection Christian on Tuesday, falling 62-18. Platte Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-2.
Frontier Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Platte Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.
Frontier Academy took a serious blow against Platte Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 63-10. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Frontier Academy was down 45-4.
