Volleyball Recap: Stratford Red Devils vs. Bethel Wildcats
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Stratford and Bethel meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Red Devils fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2. The Red Devils were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.
Stratford actually scored more points across those five sets (104-103), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 15-25, 26-24, 22-25, 25-20, 15-10.
Olivia North paced Stratford's offense, picking up nine kills. North really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 15. Sophie DeLise and Payton Farrell kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with five aces apiece.
Stratford dropped their record down to 2-2 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Bethel, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Stratford will square off against rival Immaculate at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Bethel is set to face off against their familiar foe New Fairfield at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
