Softball Game Preview: Warren County Eagles vs. Weldon Chargers

The Warren County Eagles will challenge the Weldon Chargers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Warren County 1.5, Weldon 0.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Wednesday, Warren County didn't have quite enough to beat J.F. Webb and fell 4-3. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Weldon strolled into their game last Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let Wilson Prep get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. Fans of the Chargers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Kamaya Coles was incredible, getting on base in three of her six plate appearances with six stolen bases and two runs. Kearii Edwards was another key player, going 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Weldon's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Warren County, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 12-1.
