Softball Recap: ALA - West Foothills Extends Winning Streak to Five

ALA - West Foothills posted their closest victory since April 12, 2024 on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Chino Valley Cougars 9-8. Winning may never get old, but the Guardians sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

The team relied heavily on Ave Risati, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Caines, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

ALA - West Foothills pushed their record up to 15-7 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Chino Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. ALA - West Foothills will challenge River Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Dust Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Guardians' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Chino Valley, they will take on Wickenburg at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wranglers have averaged an impressive 11.2 runs per game this season.
