Baseball Recap: Bradford Takes a Loss

Bradford had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 4-10-1 to make it four. They came up short against the Punxsutawney Chucks, falling 13-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Owls were not able to get on the board.

As for Punxsutawney, their record now sits at 12-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

For Punxsutawney's part, Coy Martino made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave Martino a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Nevin Day was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Brody Stouffer, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Looking ahead, Bradford will take on Brockway at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Punxsutawney, they will square off against Moniteau at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
