Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pine Island). The stars were shining brightly for them in a 76-62 victory over the Chatfield Gophers on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Pine Island's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Chatfield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3.

Pine Island will head out on the road to square off against Kasson-Mantorville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Kasson-Mantorville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Chatfield, they will be home for the holidays to greet Rushford-Peterson at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Rushford-Peterson will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Chatfield surely won't give up without a fight.
