Soccer Game Preview: Central vs. Geneva

The Central Rockets will venture away from home to square off against the Geneva Vikings at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Central will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Central's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Hampshire. Given Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Hampshire are ranked 271st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Geneva has been on a difficult stretch since their win on April 17. They fell just short of St. Charles East by a score of 2-1 on Thursday.

Central's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Geneva, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-4.

Central came up short against Geneva when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Rockets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
