Basketball Game Preview: State Line Christian Patriots vs. Lakecrest Baptist

The State Line Christian Patriots will face off against Lakecrest Baptist at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. State Line Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.9 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, State Line Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Faith Baptist, taking the game 58-51. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Eagle are ranked 312th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

State Line Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cooper Worley, who posted 20 points and eight boards. Those eight rebounds gave Worley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jackson Baumker, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 19 points.

Meanwhile, Lakecrest Baptist had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five back in December of 2024. They enjoyed a cozy 47-33 win over Rochester Hills Christian.

State Line Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Lakecrest Baptist, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

State Line Christian was taken down by Lakecrest Baptist 56-26 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can State Line Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
