Basketball Recap: Aquinas Piles Up the Points Against Tomah

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Aquinas). They took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging an 87-24 win over the Tomah Timberwolves. With that victory, the Blugolds brought their scoring average up to 53.8 points per game.

Samantha Davis was her usual excellent self, going 10 for 13 on her way to 23 points in addition to seven boards and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Dobbins, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 15 points.

Aquinas was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February.

The win was the fourth in a row for Aquinas, bringing their record for this year to 5-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Tomah, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Aquinas will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on McDonell Central at 7:15 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Tomah will take on La Crosse Logan in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Tomah is facing La Crosse Logan at the right time seeing as La Crosse Logan is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
