Softball Recap: Mounds View Takes a Loss

Mounds View had lost ten straight at home dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 1-6 to make it 11. They lost 18-10 to the White Bear Lake Bears. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 11-1 to the Bears when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for White Bear Lake, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For White Bear Lake's part, they let Kendall Kotzmacher and Maddy Belisle run wild. Kotzmacher went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Belisle got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and three runs. That home run was Kotzmacher's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Anessa Pe?a, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mounds View will square off against Cretin-Derham Hall at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for White Bear Lake, they will host Irondale at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
