Softball Recap: Legacy Charter Comes Up Short

Celebration hit Legacy Charter with a four-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles came up short against the Storm, falling 11-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Storm this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in March.

Lindsay Donahey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and eight unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kalyn Brown made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Legacy Charter has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Celebration, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.

Looking ahead, Legacy Charter will head out to take on Windermere Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Celebration, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 19-4 win against Central Florida Christian Academy on the 17th.
