Volleyball Game Preview: Chaparral Cowboys vs. Amplus Academy Archers

After both having extra time off, the Chaparral Cowboys and the Amplus Academy Archers will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Chaparral is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Desert Oasis, who was ranked 18th at the time (Chaparral was ranked 22nd). Chaparral came up short against Desert Oasis on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Cowboys have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chaparral was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-21, 28-26.

Meanwhile, Amplus Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clark.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-22, 17-25, 25-11.

Chaparral's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Amplus Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Chaparral couldn't quite get it done against Amplus Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-1.
