Softball Preview: Tug Valley Panthers vs. Van Bulldogs

The Tug Valley Panthers are on the road again on Wednesday to play the Van Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Tug Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Tug Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Cross Lanes Christian, taking the game 8-5.

Bailee Hall made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Hall was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Megan Griffey was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, a triple, and an RBI. Makenna Osborne was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Van suffered a rough 20-3 defeat at the hands of Elk Valley Christian on Monday. Van has struggled against Elk Valley Christian recently, as their match on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Tug Valley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Van, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.

Everything went Tug Valley's way against Van in their previous matchup back in March as Tug Valley made off with a 16-1 win.
