Soccer Game Preview: Mountain View vs. Arroyo

The Mountain View Vikings and the Arroyo Knights will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mountain View headed into their last contest having not scored more than one goal for four straight, but Rosemead let them put that streak behind them. Mountain View never let Rosemead onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Thursday. Considering the Vikings have won five matches by more than three goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Arroyo had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They had just enough and edged the Lions out 2-1.

Arroyo is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 35 goals over those six contests. As for Mountain View, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2-2.

Mountain View skirted past Arroyo 1-0 when the teams last played back in January. Will Mountain View repeat their success, or does Arroyo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
