Recap: Central Blue Devils vs. Lake Minneola Hawks
The Central Blue Devils pushed their score all the way to 58 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Lake Minneola by a score of 61-58.
When it comes to explaining why Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Faith Fedd-Robinson. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dyshana Austin, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Patricia Casimir was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 23 rebounds for Lake Minneola. The contest was Casimir's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Mia Saunders was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Lake Minneola, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
Central won't have much time to rest: their next match is against St. Frances Academy at 10:30 a.m. on December 17th. St. Frances Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Central in their respective states (St. Frances Academy is ranked 36th in Maryland, while Central is ranked 144th in New Jersey). Lake Minneola will be home for the holidays to greet Bishop Moore at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
