Volleyball Recap: Lake Worth Comes Up Short

Lake Worth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lubbock Westerners. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bullfrogs of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2021.

Despite the loss, Lake Worth still got an impressive performance from Jasmin Martinez, who had 21 digs and two assists. With that strong performance, Martinez is now averaging an impressive 11 digs per game. Cherysh Luiv Fowler also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Lake Worth's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Lubbock, they moved to 2-5 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.
