Volleyball Recap: King's Academy Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

King's Academy hadn't done well against Westminster Christian recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Lions won by a set and slipped past the Warriors 3-2. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 victory the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (101-100) King's Academy actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-15, 17-25, 18-25, 15-13.

Mikayla Matuszko paced King's Academy's offense, picking up 19 kills. Matuszko got some help from Hunter Saltalamacchia and her 22 assists. Matuszko was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

King's Academy pushed their record up to 4-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Westminster Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

Coming up, King's Academy will welcome Saint Andrew's at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Westminster Christian, they will venture away from home to take on Lourdes Academy at 7:15 p.m. on the 11th.
