Basketball Recap: West Vigo Comes Up Short

West Vigo lost against Greencastle on December 6th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The West Vigo Vikings took a 50-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greencastle Tiger Cubs. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Greencastle's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sam Gooch led the charge by putting up 13 points and seven rebounds. Ian Williamson was another key player, posting seven points and eight rebounds.

West Vigo now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Greencastle, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

West Vigo will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Riverton Parke at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Greencastle also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Northview at 7:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
