Basketball Game Preview: Atlantic Sharks vs. First Baptist Christian Academy Crusaders

After both having extra time off, the Atlantic Sharks and the First Baptist Christian Academy Crusaders will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Back in December of 2024, Atlantic came up short against University and fell 52-45.

Meanwhile, First Baptist Christian Academy put another one in the bag back in December of 2024 to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Washington Classical Christian to the tune of 56-28. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 27 points or more this season.

First Baptist Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Julia (Jay) Rose, who went 8 for 20 on her way to 19 points in addition to eight boards and seven steals. Rose is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliza Ouwsey, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

First Baptist Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Atlantic's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for First Baptist Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
