Volleyball Recap: Eastern Greene Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bedford North Lawrence, Eastern Greene was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the North Daviess Cougars. The victory was some much needed relief for the Thunderbirds as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

The win didn't come easy: North Daviess scored at least 21 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-21, 18-25, 27-25, 25-22.

Despite the loss, North Daviess saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jessie Yoder had nine digs and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Yoder.

Eastern Greene's victory bumped their record up to 8-14. As for North Daviess, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.

Eastern Greene will take on Mooresville in a tournament on Saturday. As for North Daviess, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Pleasant View Christian at 10:00 a.m.
