            Basketball Recap: Martinsville Artesians vs. Mooresville Pioneers        
        
		
        
        
            Martinsville lost against Mooresville back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Friday. The Martinsville Artesians were just a bucket shy of victory  and fell  74-73 to the Mooresville Pioneers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game  last Tuesday (55), the Artesians still had to take the loss.

 When it comes to explaining why Martinsville lost, don't look at  Grady Gardner. Despite the final result, he  went 8-for-19  to rack up 34 points. The  contest was  Gardner's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Hunter Stroud, who  went 7-for-15  en route to 15  points.
 Mooresville got their  win on the backs of several key players, but it was  Brevon Burns out in front who  dropped  a double-double with 21 points and ten  rebounds. Burns has been hot recently, having  posted 15 or more  points the last four times he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Tyrone Elmore, who  went 6-for-9  on his way to 17 points.
Martinsville has  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost five of their last six games,  which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record  this season. As for Mooresville,  the  victory  got them back to even at 10-10.
 Coming up, Martinsville will take on Whiteland at 7:30  p.m.  on February 21st. Martinsville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.3  points per game  this season. As for Mooresville, they will square off against Center Grove at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Mooresville also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 59.6  points per game.
