Soccer Recap: Philip Simmons Comes Up Short

Philip Simmons lost against Porter-Gaud back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Philip Simmons came up short against Porter-Gaud, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Philip Simmons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Porter-Gaud are ranked first).

Philip Simmons dropped their record down to 5-6-1 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Porter-Gaud, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Philip Simmons will take on James Island at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. James Island will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Philip Simmons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Porter-Gaud, they will face off against Ashley Hall at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
