Softball Preview: Chaparral Lobos vs. Deming Wildcats
Chaparral hasn't had much luck against Deming recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Lobos are taking a road trip to take on the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Chaparral made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hot Springs, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lobos were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over the Tigers back in March. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lobos as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, Deming entered their tilt with Da Vinci on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Dragons 16-1.
Deming got a massive performance out of Cristal Enriquez, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Selena Munoz, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Deming was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .680. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Chaparral picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-12. As for Deming, their record is now 5-11.
