Volleyball Recap: Mountain View Mountain Lions vs. Centennial Coyotes
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mountain View can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Centennial Coyotes on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Coyotes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.
The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-20, 25-7.
Mountain View's offense was headlined by Caleb Pixley and Ty Morrow, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Chase Reidhead and his eight assists. Finally, Pixley was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for Mountain View and nudges their season record down to 18-19. As for Centennial, they have been performing well recently as they've won 16 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.
Mountain View does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Centennial, they will take on Campo Verde at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Campo Verde will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Centennial surely won't give up without a fight.
