Softball Recap: Bradford Has No Trouble Against North Marion

Bradford's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the North Marion Colts as they made off with a 13-1 victory. Considering the Tornadoes have won five matches by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kolee Lemire and Kingslee Phillips did most of the damage at the plate: Lemire scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Phillips scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Summer Sutton was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Bradford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Marion only posted an OBP of .278.

The win got Bradford back to even at 6-6. As for North Marion, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-13.

Looking ahead, Bradford will square off against Newberry at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tornadoes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for North Marion, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against P.K. Yonge at 7:00 p.m.
