Softball Recap: Mecklenburg County Phoenix vs. Blacksburg Bruins

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Mecklenburg County couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Blacksburg Bruins by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday. Mecklenburg County's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

For Blacksburg's part, Evelyn Rhoads was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
