Knoxville Catholic scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 91-86 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tate Aggies. The Fighting Irish have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Knoxville Catholic's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cade Murphy, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 boards. Murphy has been hot, having posted nine or more boards the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Carson Asbaty, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 assists.

Even though they lost, Knoxville Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive matches.

Knoxville Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Tate, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Knoxville Catholic will head out on the road to take on Walker Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Tate, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Beechwood at 12:30 p.m.
