Recap: Van Bulldogs vs. WestSide Renegades
The Van Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by WestSide on the road and fell 95-28. Van was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-14.
WestSide's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Bishop, who scored 22 points along with six assists. The matchup was Bishop's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadien Vance, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Van's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for WestSide, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
Van will head out on the road to face off against Mount View at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. WestSide and Shady Spring will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Shady Spring is ranked 21st, while WestSide is ranked 27th).
