Volleyball Recap: Ethan Taylor and MD Arfat Chowdhury Secure Win for Stamford

Stamford entered their tilt with Bunnell on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bulldogs. The Black Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Stamford took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-10, 25-14.

Leading Stamford to victory were MD Arfat Chowdhury and Ethan Taylor. Chowdhury had 11 digs and two assists, while Taylor had seven digs and five aces. Taylor is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 14 or more in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season.

They weren't the only good server: Stamford was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 13 aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Stamford's record now sits at 3-0. As for Bunnell, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stamford will head out to square off against Joel Barlow at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bunnell, they will venture away from home to challenge Hand at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
