Basketball Game Preview: Portsmouth Christian Patriots vs. Greenbrier Christian Academy Gators

The Portsmouth Christian Patriots will face off against the Greenbrier Christian Academy Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Portsmouth Christian has ten straight wins, Greenbrier Christian Academy has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Portsmouth Christian will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Hampton Christian Academy, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Portsmouth Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Hampton Christian Academy on Friday, sneaking past 47-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Patriots have posted since November 30, 2023.

Meanwhile, Greenbrier Christian Academy ended up a good deal behind Denbigh Baptist Christian on Friday and lost 74-59. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (58), the Gators still had to take the loss.

Portsmouth Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.4 points per game. As for Greenbrier Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Portsmouth Christian took their win against Greenbrier Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 57-32.
