Warren had won six straight home games dating back to last season and Treyton Pafford did his part to make it seven on Tuesday. The Warren Warriors put the hurt on the Galena Pirates with a sharp 64-43 win thanks in part to Pafford, who went 9 of 17 en route to 24 points in addition to five assists and five boards. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.
Another player making a difference was Beau Podnar, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 14 points and eight rebounds. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played.
Warren's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Galena, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warren will face off against East Dubuque at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Warren knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully East Dubuque likes a good challenge. As for Galena, they will square off against West Carroll at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
