Basketball Recap: Chilton County Comes Up Short

Chilton County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Wetumpka Indians, falling 79-40. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-31 back in December of 2024.

Justin Godwin gave his former team something to remember he by as he almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine assists for Wetumpka. Godwin is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Christopher Robinson, who went 6 of 13 en route to 13 points and seven boards.

Chilton County's loss dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Wetumpka, their victory bumped their record up to 18-5.

Chilton County and Jemison will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Wetumpka does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
