Baseball Recap: Kenmore East Comes Up Short

Kenmore East's last matchup with Grand Island could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Wednesday. The Bulldogs lost 14-0 to the Vikings. The match marked the first time this year in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

Kenmore East saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samson Mayle, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Mayle has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Kenmore East's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Grand Island, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Kenmore East will challenge Niagara Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolverines' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Grand Island, they will head out to challenge Lewiston-Porter at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
