Baseball Recap: Lakeview Victorious

The Lakeview Bulldogs were able to grind out a solid win over the Mineral Ridge Rams on Wednesday, taking the game 7-3.

Isaiah Lantz and Carter Doran did most of the damage at the plate: Lantz scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Doran scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave Doran a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jozef Kuchcinski, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Lakeview now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Mineral Ridge, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeview will square off against Poland Seminary at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mineral Ridge, they will head out to challenge Western Reserve at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
