Baseball Recap: Mainland Regional Comes Up Short

If Mainland Regional was riding high fresh off their 14-7 takedown of Millville on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thunderbolts on Tuesday. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Thunderbolts earlier this season, when they won 14-7.

Mainland Regional's record is now 7-10-1. As for Millville, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-9.

Looking ahead, Mainland Regional will challenge West Deptford at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Millville, they will face off against Egg Harbor Township at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
