Basketball Recap: Rushville-Industry Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Rushville-Industry, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on the West Prairie Cyclones with a sharp 61-37 win on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Rockets have posted since December 10, 2024.

Braden Coplan and Matt Whitman certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Coplan posted 18 points along with seven boards and three steals, while Whitman earned 12 points. The dominant performance also gave Whitman a new career-high in blocks (two).

Rushville-Industry pushed their record up to 11-13 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points over those games. As for West Prairie, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season.

Coming up, Rushville-Industry will welcome Quincy Notre Dame at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for West Prairie, they will host Mendon Unity at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
