Basketball Recap: Sand Rock Takes a Loss

Sand Rock has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost 71-51 to the Signal Mountain Eagles on Monday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wildcats came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 106th in Alabama, while the Eagles are ranked 272nd in Tennessee).

Sand Rock's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Signal Mountain, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Sand Rock beat Signal Mountain by a score of 39-36 on Tuesday.
