Volleyball Recap: Chariho Wins High-Profile Game Against Coventry

Chariho faced Coventry in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Chargers blew past the Oakers 3-0. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Oakers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Chariho not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Coventry between 18 and 21 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-18, 25-20.

Leading Chariho to victory were Reid McCann and Jaxson Vachon. McCann had ten digs, five kills, and three aces, while Vachon had 15 digs. That's the most kills McCann has posted since back in April.

Chariho's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. As for Coventry, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Looking ahead, Chariho will look to defend their home court on Thursday against East Greenwich at 6:30 p.m. As for Coventry, they will head out to face off against North Kingstown at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Skippers will roll in looking for their 22nd straight victory, something the Oakers surely won't give up without a fight.
