Basketball Recap: Clarke County Eagles vs. Hampshire Trojans

Even though the Hampshire Trojans scored an imposing 64 points on Wednesday, the Clarke County Eagles still came out on top. Clarke County took their contest against the Trojans 73-64. The win was all the more spectacular given Clarke County's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 212th in Virginia, while the Trojans are ranked 62nd in West Virginia).

Will Booker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points along with two steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Sipe, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

The victory makes it two in a row for Clarke County and bumps their season record up to 12-5. As for Hampshire, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.

Clarke County will head out on the road to square off against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Luray will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Hampshire, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m.
