Baseball Recap: La Plata's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

La Plata hadn't done well against Chopticon recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Warriors blew past the Braves 14-3. Considering the Warriors have won eight contests by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the fourth in a row for La Plata, bringing their record up to 10-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Chopticon, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. La Plata is set to square off against their familiar foe St. Charles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Warriors' favor as the squad sits on 12 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while St. Charles have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. Meanwhile, Chopticon will face off against rival Huntingtown on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Braves 3.3, the Hurricanes 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
