Basketball Recap: St. Martin Falls Short Against Ranked Biloxi

On Tuesday, St. Martin faced Biloxi in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The St. Martin Yellow Jackets took a blow against the Biloxi Indians, falling 51-12. The contest marked the Yellow Jackets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Biloxi found their leader in sophomore Zaniya Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jayla Carriere, who posted 13 points.

St. Martin's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 17-2. As for Biloxi, the win keeps them at an undefeated 19-0.

St. Martin will welcome D'Iberville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Biloxi, they will square off against Gulfport at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
