Softball Recap: Haltom's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

While Haltom's victory against Lamar wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Haltom Buffalos had just enough and edged out the Lamar Vikings 9-7. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Buffalos as it put an end to their 11-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Analyssa Luna was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Navarrete, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Haltom always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Haltom's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-10. As for Lamar, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Haltom will be playing at home against Grand Prairie at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grand Prairie has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.94 runs per game on average), something Haltom will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lamar, they are taking a road trip to face off against South Grand Prairie at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
